Our Vision Our vision is to contribute to a diverse and cohesive society, where the needs of the disabled, elderly, house-bound refugees and migrants, as well as other socially disadvantaged communities, are recognized within the local communities as a part of our society. We wish to provide support by all means to help them overcome the hardship, poverty and social disadvantages that they face. Our Mission To improve the quality of life of socially disadvantaged people and relieve financial hardship by providing free advice and assistance to people who, through lack of means would otherwise be unable to obtain such advice (National). Community capacity building. To develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged community of Newham and Barking & Dagenham so that their needs are met and so that they will be able to participate more fully in society. Relief of Hardship The relief of financial hardship among people living or working in Newham, Barking & Dagenham by providing them with goods or services that they could not otherwise afford. Our Values Commitment through volunteering, trust, confidentiality, promoting equality and diversity, bridge building between younger and older generations, punctuality, a desire to fight poverty, honesty, promoting training and further education for volunteers and service users, practicing interpersonal skills and being part of the British society. Our Aims Our aim is to provide specialist aid and support services for disabled, elderly, house-bound people, single parents, LGBT, victims of abuse, women suffering from stress, the homeless, refugees, immigrants and all socially disadvantaged people. We endeavor to increase the skills and educational capacity of potential volunteers so that they can meet the needs of their communities. We also endeavor to support volunteers and service users by providing the accredited training and engaging them with the wider community. We wish to improve the job prospects of our volunteers and service users by providing accredited, non-accredited and in-house training sessions to enable them to become more active, healthier citizens and to encourage them to avoid isolation. |
